ISO 9001 Certified for Quality Control

ISO 9001: 2015

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is the world’s largest organization for voluntary standards in manufactured products and technology from food safety to healthcare devices to precision optics.

Blue Ridge Optics is ISO 9001: 2015 compliant—the date at the end referring to the last time the ISO updated their standards—which confirms that our optical coating processes and optical fabrications hold up to the highest standards of reliability and quality. As an ISO 9001 certified company, you can rest assured that the precision optics you purchase from Blue Ridge are the best on the market.

What Is ITAR Compliance?

ITAR Compliance

ITAR stands for the International Traffic in Arms Regulation. With it, the U.S. government requires that any company that manufactures, exports, or brokers products or services for U.S. defense must be ITAR compliant.

Why Is ITAR Compliance Important

If your company sells directly to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), you need to be ITAR compliant. Even if you don’t sell directly to the DoD, but sell to a company that sells to the DoD, in most cases you will need to be ITAR compliant. Blue Ridge is ITAR registered in order to sell our precision optics to clients who have business with the DoD.

DFARS Compliance

DFARS refers to the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, which sets restrictions on how companies who do contract work for the DoD—or sell to companies who do contract work for the DoD—acquire the raw materials for their products.

Intended to protect the U.S. defense industry from becoming overly dependent on foreign sources for supply of their raw materials, Blue Ridge Optics maintains DFARS compliance when it comes to the raw materials in our precision components and optical coatings.
